Our Neighbourhood

Our B&B, MyGuest Roma and 21 Aprile dolce dormire, are in the very centre of a calm and green area full of meeting places. There are famous kosher restaurants of Piazza Bologna, the Momartcafè, and pubs and beer-gardens of San Lorenzo.  This is the Rome of universities (Luiss, Sapienza, Policlinico Umberto I academic hospital) and Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale (The National Library); but also the Rome of children, of parks, of the Cinema dei Piccoli and Teatro Sette; the Rome of the art connoisseurs and of the lovers of all things beautiful.

The guests of the bed & breakfast who appreciate fine cuisine will be able to please their palates in one of the uncountable ethnic restaurants and authentic Roman pizzerias of the San Lorenzo neighbourhood. In the close vicinity of our pension, one can taste the famous cuscus or the astonishing ‘hraimi’ (spicy fish) of the Jewish-Tripolitanian tradition. Indeed, Piazza Bologna is one of the three main centres of Jewish life in Rome. It is full of bakeries and pastry shops, minimarkets and take-aways, all of them strictly kosher.

The MyGuest Roma and 21 Aprile dolce dormire pensions are very well connected to the city centrethe Termini and Tiburtina railway stations and the Fiumicino airport. With metro and buses running every 6 minutes, you will swiftly find yourself in the very middle of the Eternal City.

The whole area around the Bed and Breakfast is particularly green. The parks of Villa Mirafiori, Villa Torlonia, Villa Leopardi and Villa Ada come one after another in close distance. A short ride on a cycle path will get you to the Ponte Nomentano, crossing the valley of the Aniene River. If you continue alongside the river, you will reach Villa Borghese first, and then the centre of the ancient Rome. An alternative path leads to the Tiber Park and the Auditorium. As for the sites of the artistic and historical interest, the Guest House are situated in the residential area just a few steps away from the monumental complex of St Agnes (encompassing the paleo-Christian catacombs and the Mausoleum of St Constanza) and the German Academy of Villa Massimo, and from Villa Torlonia. Inside the latter, a number of true pearls of architecture await an art connoisseur: Jewish catacombs, the Casina delle Civette, the Casino dei Principi (with the works of the early 20th-century Roman School), as well as the Villino Rosso, the Casino Nobile, and ancient obelisks.

The park close to our guest house satisfies the needs of the whole family: playing fields suit the children, sophisticated technologies of the Technotown await the teenagers, while modern exercise facilities care for the sportsmen. To those who simply want to enjoy a break we recommend a moment of relax at the Limonaia – café and pastry shop, in which the enjoyment of the delicious food combines perfectly with the pleasure of being in a park. The shoppers will find everything they need near at our B&B: Viale XXI Aprile, the main street overlooked by our balconies, connects the two commercial areas of Piazza Bologna and Viale Eritrea -Viale Libia.
The bottom line: whoever you are and whatever you are looking for in Rome, in our bed and breakfast you are at the right place!
